? Strategic priorities for 2026?2028
Members agreed on the priorities that will shape FATF?s work over the next two years, with a continued focus on emerging risks and improving the effectiveness of AML/CFT/CPF frameworks.
? Strengthening the global FATF network
Measures were adopted to enhance engagement with FATF-Style Regional Bodies (FSRBs), reinforcing coordination across the global AML/CFT network of 200+ jurisdictions.
? Grey list update (Jurisdictions under Increased Monitoring)
Kuwait and Papua New Guinea were added to the list of jurisdictions subject to enhanced FATF monitoring.
? Mutual evaluations ? new round
FATF adopted mutual evaluation reports for Austria, Italy, and Singapore as part of the current assessment cycle.
? Upcoming guidance and typologies
New reports addressing technology-enabled fraud and virtual asset risks were approved and are expected to be released soon.
? Other notable developments
The suspension of the Russian Federation remains in effect.
As financial crime risks continue to evolve, these developments reinforce FATF?s risk-based approach and will have downstream implications for national regulators, financial institutions, and other covered entities.
