? Today, October 22, 2026, Joint Resolution No. 5/2026, issued by Argentina?s Ministry of National Security and Ministry of Foreign Affairs, was published in the Official Gazette. The Resolution initiates the process for registering five criminal organizations in the Public Registry of Persons and Entities Linked to Acts of Terrorism and Terrorist Financing (RePET).
? Which organizations are covered?
?? Sinaloa Cartel.
?? National Liberation Army (ELN).
?? La Nueva Familia Michoacana.
?? Los Tiguerones, including its factions.
?? FARC-EP, including the structures and aliases identified in the Resolution.
?? What are the implications for Reporting Entities?
This measure underscores the importance of maintaining up-to-date sanctions and watchlist screening procedures, identifying potential matches, and ensuring appropriate compliance responses to possible links with terrorism and terrorist financing.
? Importantly, the Resolution directs the Ministry of Justice to undertake the necessary steps to register these organizations in RePET. It does not, by itself, establish that their registration has already been completed.
? Does your organization need to review or update its AML/CTF Compliance Program?
