? ALERT FOR ALL REPORTING ENTITIES: SIGNIFICANT INCREASE IN UIF PENALTIES FOR NON-COMPLIANCE!
? The Financial Intelligence Unit (UIF) has increased by 35% the value of the units used to calculate penalties for violations of the AML/CFT regulatory framework.
? Today, Monday, June 23, 2025, Resolution UIF No. 95/2025 was published in the Official Gazette, updating the unit value used for sanctions to ARS $54,140, in accordance with Law No. 25.246 (as amended by Law No. 27.739).
? This means that, as of now, cumulative fines for each obligation breached (excluding the STR obligation) are as follows:
?? Minimum: ARS $812,100
?? Maximum: ARS $135,350,000
?? And if the Reporting Entity is a legal entity, the fine doubles, as it is applied both to the company and to its board of directors. In this case:
?? Minimum: ARS $1,624,200
?? Maximum: ARS $270,700,000
? This confirms a clear trend: to maintain the "effectiveness of the system" required by the FATF. ? In the last two years, penalties have risen from a minimum of ARS $10,000 (in force until March 2024) to today?s levels. And they are CUMULATIVE for each obligation not fulfilled (training, policies, monitoring, reporting, audits, etc.).
